We have a great team of ladies organizing Betty’s Beer Fest!

Event Coordinator – Owner, Meg’s Events – Meg has been planning events and weddings since 2008. She is the creator and organizer of popular Vermont beer fests such as SIPtemberfest and Hop Jam, as well as many other events and weddings. After years working in and around the craft beer industry, Meg noticed that the women she worked with were a really cool, talented, motivated and growing bunch, but they were rarely celebrated within the industry. She saw the opportunity to showcase these women and create an event like no other. And so Betty’s Beer Fest was born.

MelMelanie Slatter 

Registration Coordinator – Assistant, Meg’s Events – Melanie has become a fixture at Meg’s Events, welcome attendees as they arrive and helping solve problems like a seasoned event professional. Melanie has been working with Meg’s Events for four years and has been an integral part of helping events like Betty’s Beer Fest grow.

AsahAsah Rowles 

Location Coordinator  – General Manager, The Big Picture Theater & Cafe – Asah brings her management savvy and area resources to Betty’s, helping to provide a location that suits our event needs, but also connects with the surrounding community. She has been a key player with Betty’s from the very start.

MarkCBCMark Drutman 

Education Coordinator – Co-Owner, Craft Beer Cellar, Waterbury – Mark got into craft beer 11 years ago, the craft beer industry nine years ago and has worked in every side of the industry. He has come to the table this year as our Education Coordinator. He will be running multiple educational sessions with other industry professionals that will take place throughout the day.

KristenKristen Sykes 

Industry Connector – President and Founder of the Boston Area Beer Enthusiasts Society (BABES) Kristen has successfully run BABES, a women’s beer club,  for 4 1/2 years. She is an instructor at the University of Vermont – Business of Craft Beer Program. In 2009 she became a certified Beer Judge through the Beer Judge Certification Program and has been a home brewing for more than 15 years. She is also the former Executive Director of the Massachusetts Brewers Guild.

BHibbsBrittney Hibbs 

Event Emcee –  Morning News Anchor for Local 22/ Local 44 in Burlington – In addition to her daily news duties, Brittney Hibbs is the host and producer of an award winning weekly segment, ‘What’s on Tap?’ where she interviews brewers all over the state. Brittney’s main mission is to get all people interested in craft beer while educating consumers and challenging them to try new styles. In 2014, Vermont Pub and Brewery applauded her efforts by brewing, a hibiscus wheat ale, humorously called “Hibbs Don’t Lie.”

Gregory Dunkling 

Scholarship Fund Liaison – Professor, University of Vermont Craft Beer Business Certificate – Gregory has helped us create the Betty’s Scholarship Program which will help us meet out mission to get more women into the craft beer industry.
